Bioinformatics Data Science Workshops will offer a two-day virtual workshop from Wednesday, April 5, to Thursday, April 6, @ 9 am-12 pm HST. Workshop Day 1: Introduction to Cloud Computing

Date/Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, HST, April 5, 2023      

• Concepts of cloud computing, cloud computing platforms and services
• Using cloud computing in biomedical research
• Google Cloud Platforms (GCP)
• Hands-on labs: GCP account, cloud storage bucket, virtual machines, Jupyter notebooks

Workshop Day 2: DNA Methylation and Whole-Genome Bisulfite Sequencing Data Analysis
Date/Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, HST, April 6, 2023

• Introduction to DNA methylation, DNA methylation assays, Whole-genome bisulfite sequencing(WGBS)
• WGBS data analysis workflow: methylation level extraction, differential methylated regions (DMRs) detection
• Hands-on practice: Bismark workflow, metilene
