HI-INBRE Summer RAIN Cancer Biology Research Program

HI-INBRE is excited to offer to interested undergraduate students from RAIN states (other than Hawaii) a two-month summer undergraduate research internship in Cancer Biology as part of the “Cancer Research Education, Advancement, Training and Empowerment” (CREATE) program at the University of Hawaii Cancer Center. This program typically runs from early June to late July and includes safety training, mentored laboratory research in cancer research, weekly seminars/journal clubs, and other exercises in science writing, statistics, generating graphs, and other research skills.   The research experience culminates in a poster presentation session at the end of the internship. RAIN students interested in this opportunity need to initiate the application by discussing their eligibility and research background with the INBRE Leadership in their home state. Qualified candidates may then apply to the internship program per instructions to be sent via email throughout the RAIN INBRE network. So, please keep an eye out for the announcement and call for applications sent via email in ~ early February of each year. For any questions regarding this summer program, please contact Ms. Kari Kim, HI-INBRE Program Administrator, karikim@hawaii.edu
