Regional Alliance of INBRE Networks (RAIN) Summer Exchange Program
RAIN was formed to support regional collaborations focused on common scientific themes. Opportunities exist for undergraduate students from the region to participate in transformative research experiences in the RAIN states. Individual INBRE Programs within RAIN host expertise-specific student programs, such as lab fellowships, workshops, and summer camps. RAIN student researchers are the best and brightest undergraduate students in the RAIN Region. The selection process is competitive and rigorous. Support for travel and housing may be available through the home state INBRE.

Eligibility and Requirements
To be eligible to apply for other RAIN Summer Exchange Programs, Hawaii INBRE participants MUST meet the following:
- Be enrolled at an institution in one of the IDeA Network Western Region states (Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Wyoming) during spring semester directly preceding the summer term
- Students must be graduating on or after December 2026. Students graduating in May or August 2026 will not be eligible for Fellowships in 2026.
- Students must be committed to a full-time position and attend weekly meetings
- Have previously participated in the INBRE Program for at least 1 semester or more

If approved, students will be notified by the Hawaii INBRE Program Administrative team if they have been approved to apply for a RAIN Summer Program.
